Buying an ultra-affordable, big-screen TV can be tricky. Many TVs in the 75-inch range are, frankly, not very good. They typically lack the hardware needed for a punchy picture.
That is not typically the case with ultra-affordable Mini-LED TVs, which almost always offer better brightness and contrast than garden-variety LED TVs. And, if you’re looking for a last-minute deal on a big-screen TV ahead of Super Bowl weekend, I have good news: The 75-inch Hisense U65QF is on sale for $599 at Amazon right now. That’s its lowest price on record.
The U65QF delivers a bright, well-tuned picture — better than what you’ll find on most 75-inch TVs in this price range that don’t come with Mini-LEDs. If I had $600 to spend on a 75-inch TV, the U65QF is the one I’d get.
If you’re committed to a 75-inch screen, there most important thing to consider is display hardware. With this much real estate, the blemishes of a simplistic, subpar display are very easy to spot.
This is why I always recommend that folks shopping for a big screen on a budget prioritize Mini-LED backlighting above all else. The 75-inch U65QF isn’t as bright or impressive-looking as a higher-end Mini-LED TV with pricier parts, but it’s a Mini-LED TV nonetheless, and that goes a very long way.
Thanks to Mini-LEDs, the U65QF is brighter than every other TV we’ve tested in its class. The TV’s local dimming functionality allows it to control that brightness for better overall contrast.

The U65QF also arrives with a handful of nifty features, too. As we noted in our Hisense U65QF review, this TV supports 4K gaming at 120Hz (and up to 144Hz) across two of its four total HDMI inputs, so it’s well equipped for current-gen consoles like Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5.
One thing to keep in mind about the U65QF is that it’s built around Amazon’s Fire TV smart platform. We weren’t too keen on its built-in Fire TV software suite when this set first launched, but imminent updates to the Fire TV software could be a game-changer for the U65QF.
If you’re absolutely dead-set on buying a 75-inch TV for under $700, I truly think you’d be doing yourself a disservice to get a set without Mini-LEDs. That makes this limited-time deal is a savvy choice.
